Branding

An interior designer is someone who plans, researches, coordinates, and manages such enhancement projects. Interior design includes conceptual development, space planning, site inspections, programming, research, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

How Does it Work?

The traditional approach for a business consists of the appointment of a branding team, than an interior designer, architect and finally the appointment of a general contractor to complete the construction of the space. Working with multiple points-of-contact can begin to develop a wide variety of issues from no communication, over-inflated costs, to confusing store layouts and more!

The Brand, Design & Build route changes the traditional, and often lengthy process to make the commercial development pipeline more streamlined and efficient while keeping your core interests at the forefront. Our process answers your wishes for a single point of responsibility in an attempt to reduce risks and overall costs.

This process takes into account your overall budget and financial capabilities and allows us to build you the highest-quality space for your available budget. By utilizing our in-house Value Engineering services and working hand-in-hand with our Branding & Design partners to specify and use economical and quality solutions to design and develop the highest quality space for your available budget – giving you more for less!

Step #1

Brand Strategy, Brand Identity and Style Guides

A process to define the brand approach: brand values, statement of differentiation, brand personality and archetype. This is a collaborative process, the foundation for a holistic experience - all creative work will build on it to achieve consistency. The designer will create basic standards (brand book) with the new visual identity and grow the brand’s visual language with the definition of a color palette and fonts first.

Step #2

Interior Graphics, Art & Signage Design

The brand designer will visit the first location to take initial measurements and review the exterior traffic flow. The brand designer will work with the interior designer to identify the areas of focus for the environmental graphics and art. Areas of interest will be defined on a sample floor plan - presented and reviewed with the client.

Step #3

Design Planning, Development & Digitalization

The designer will document existing site conditions with measurements and photographs and note any discrepancies with the as-built floor plans. The site then gets mapped out into a 2D program for drafting. The designer will develop a floor plan with the client that balances ambitions for retail space, customer experience, and back of house/operational requirements. The designer will provide a new look for the store through a concept presentation that combines your brand story with the customer experience and translates it into the built environment.

Step #4

Architectural Drawings & Building Permits

The team of consultants will work together to create a set of stamped drawings for the building permit. An Electronic Submittal of permit drawings to the city including application for a zoning certificate

Step #5

Final Pricing & Construction Documents

Final set of drawings will be sent to the Contractor for final pricing and construction scheduling. Any value-engineering will be considered in relation to the budget provided.

Step #6

Facility Construction & Project Management

Once Architectural Design & Plans have been confirmed, GTAGC will coordinate permit drawings submission to the city in order to secure all required building and construction permits. GTAGC will appoint a project manager to oversee the complete build out phase and act as the main point of contact with all involved parties.

Step #7

Completion & Project Handover

As built drawings will be created and provided to consultants and any inspector as required. PM will request, coordinate and service all final city and ESA inspections and passes needed for closeout. GTA General Contractors will provide a general site cleaning upon all work completion and handover space to the client.
