GTA General Contractors is proud to have delivered the newly relocated flagship location for BLU Ristorante, one of Toronto’s most respected Italian dining destinations. Formerly situated in Yorkville, BLU has re-established itself in the heart of the Entertainment District, bringing its refined culinary experience to a larger, more dynamic urban setting.
Strategically positioned steps from the Princess of Wales Theatre and The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto, directly across from Roy Thomson Hall, and moments from the Rogers Centre and CN Tower, the new BLU location is designed to serve both Toronto’s cultural crowd and its international visitors.
Project Overview
This project involved the complete interior buildout of a high-end restaurant and bar space, carefully balancing BLU’s established brand identity with the energy and scale of its new surroundings. The design emphasizes warmth, elegance, and functionality—featuring rich wood ceilings, custom millwork, statement lighting, premium stone flooring, and a refined bar and lounge environment that anchors the space.
Key elements include:
- A fully integrated feature bar with custom finishes and lighting
- Open-concept kitchen visibility balanced with acoustic and operational control
- Private and semi-private dining areas tailored for events and pre/post-theatre service
- Durable, high-traffic materials selected for longevity without compromising aesthetics
The result is a sophisticated yet inviting space that reflects BLU Ristorante’s evolution—honouring its Yorkville roots while positioning the brand for continued growth in one of Toronto’s most vibrant districts.
